"Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center was excited to celebrate our first kangaroo-a-thon from May 1-15, 2024. Each time a parent completed one hour of kangaroo care, a little kangaroo was placed on our banner. Parents were thrilled to see that we surpassed our goal of 100 hours, achieving a total of 156 hours. We are a small Level 2 NICU with an average census of 7 babies during our kangaroo-a-thon. Gifts were given to a random winner, the dyad with the most hours, and the dyad with the second most hours. Our top two dyads logged 44 hours and 29.5 hours, respectively. They did an amazing job."
