Who is who in a Kangaroo-a-thon (contest)
(Parents use the mobile app while Coaches, Team Leaders, and Host-Team Leaders use the web app).
Important metrics are meticulously documented in the NICU. By failing to document Kangaroo Care, the message given to parents and staff is that it is “not important.”
By performing analytics of kangaroo care, you will know how long babies are separated from their parents, and take the necessary measures to decrease this time until achieving zero-separation.

Types of Contests (Kangaroo-a-thons) using The Zaky APP
Only Team Leaders may join or create a contest.

One-Team Contest
The Team Leader can create a contest exclusively for their team.
Team members (babies and coaches) automatically participate in any contest the Team Leader schedules, so a Contest Code is not applicable for a one-team contest.
Team members may only participate in one team at a time.

Multi-Team Contest
The Team Leader may join or create a multi-team contest inviting multiple Team Leaders to participate.
To join a contest, the Team Leaders use a CONTEST CODE shared by the Host-Team Leader.
Teams may only participate in one contest at a time.

Parents, Babies
Parents register the baby in the mobile app, tracks every kangaroo care session. They may also join a team (with a Team Code) if they want to participate in a kangaroo-a-thon. Click here for instructions to join.

Coaches
Coaches register on the web app and join a team (with a Team Code) if they want to participate in a kangaroo-a-thon. Reminds parents to join and track each kangaroo care session. Click here for instructions to join.

Team leader creates a team and receives the Team Code, invites babies and coaches, and joins or creates kangaroo-a-thons for the team. Click here for instructions to join.
Features of The Zaky APP Include:
Real-Time Data
There's no need to wait until the end of the kangaroo-a-thon to view leaderboards, rankings, graphs, and other info for babies, coaches, and teams.
Kangaroo Care Tracking and Ranking for Babies
The Zaky APP is engineered to increase parental involvement.
Parents track each kangaroo care session in the mobile app.
Coaches remind parents to track each kangaroo care session. Share the screen name with parents so they may input it as "The most helpful coach".
Both parents and coaches can view the leaderboard of screen names to benchmark their progress.
Kangaroo Care Coaches Ranking
When tracking a kangaroo care session in The Zaky mobile APP, parents have the option to input the screen name of "the most supportive coach," and they will receive the entire duration of the session.
Team Ranking when participating in a Multi-Team Contest
Teams are ranked based on the Kangaroo Care Average, calculated for all the babies in the team: the duration per baby per day.
Kangaroo Care Sessions
Team Leaders can view the team’s kangaroo care sessions and analytics.
Graphs
Visual representations are available for the team (babies and coaches) since the team started.
For contests the graphs are for its duration.
News and Announcements
Team leaders may send one-way news and announcements to coaches and babies.
Host-Team Leaders can send one-way announcements to all the Team Leaders in a multi-team contest.
History
Access results from previous teams and contests in which you have participated.
What information is shared?
The Zaky APP is HIPAA compliant. Information is not shared outside the team. All data is de-identified for analytics outside the team.
Babies and coaches join the team using a Screen Name and a Team Code.
PARENTS:
- With other parents and coaches in your own team, you share the baby's screen name, kangaroo care duration, and City/State/Country.
- With the Team Leader, you also share the parent's name (the one that registered the baby on the mobile app), baby's name, and the optional short survey after tracking every kangaroo care session.
- With other teams, only the aggregate of the team's kangaroo care duration is shared.
COACHES:
- Coaches share their screen name and location (City, State, and Country) with other coaches in the same team.
- With the Team Leader, they share the name, job title, and location.
TEAM LEADER:
With other teams in the same contest, the Team Leader shares the Team name and location, the aggregated Kangaroo Care duration and average of the entire team, and the number of babies and coaches.

The time zone of the Team Leader determines the dates and times of the contest, and you see them in your local time zone as well.
